UACSWPA 2015 – GRANTS AWARD/SPONSHORS

March 20, 2015 – Union of African Communities (UAC) in Southwestern PA events promoting the quality of life in a community, through both political and non political processes, including a Diversity Festival and Speaker Series in partnership with Christian Evangelic Economic Development is a one-time recipient of a Mini Grant for 2015 Civic inclusion & engagement by Vibrant Pittsburgh and Urban Affairs Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh.This was a competitive mini grant where more than 80 organizations submitted proposals and the 12 funded projects were selected by community leaders.

Monday April 13, 2015 – The Union of African Communities in Southwestern PA (UACSWPA) in carrying out its goals in connecting and acting upon the needs of the community has worn the word out: Community Research Dissemination Challenge 2015 that was carried out by Community PARTners Core of the university of Pittsburgh Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) that bridges the relationships between community organizations and researchers. The Community Research Dissemination Challenge overall goal is to help the communities be healthier  and creative in sharing up to date health research findings with members of our community.

The UACSWPA project title – Stress Management and Preventive Techniques Intervention –within our communities was determined innovative strategy for research dissemination and a potential impact in our communities.  This award comes up with a monetary value to help UACSWPA implement the research dissemination ideas in the above project in their member communities.
